Intel’s New CEO Claims 55% Share of Data Centre Market

TAIPEI, May 19 (Reuters) – Intel’s (INTC.O) new Chief Executive Officer, Lip-Bu Tan, announced on Monday that the company currently holds a 55% share of the global data centre market.

Tan, who recently took the helm at the U.S. semiconductor giant, emphasized Intel’s leadership in server and cloud infrastructure segments during a press briefing in Taipei. He attributed the strong market position to the company’s ongoing innovation and partnerships with major cloud service providers.

“We remain focused on delivering high-performance, energy-efficient solutions that power the world’s most critical data infrastructure,” Tan said.

The CEO’s comments come as Intel faces growing competition from rivals like AMD and NVIDIA, which have made significant inroads into AI and cloud-focused server markets.
