KUALA LUMPUR, 28 May 2025 — “The greatest virtue of a leader lies in acknowledging weakness” — a powerful message from the President of the Malaysian Indian People Party (MIPP), who has thrown full support behind the New National Consensus proposed by Opposition Leader Hamzah Zainudin.
In a bold op-ed, the MIPP President commended Hamzah’s keynote at Singapore’s Iseas-Yusof Ishak Institute as a visionary step toward national transformation. He stressed that admitting flaws in the system is the first act of courage needed to rebuild Malaysia.
The New National Consensus, rooted in shared goals, shared prosperity, and compassionate governance, rejects divisive politics and aims to unify Malaysians beyond racial and cultural lines. “This is not just another political slogan. It is a promise for inclusive reform,” said the MIPP President.
Highlighting the persistent struggles of the Indian community—from education gaps to economic marginalisation—the MIPP President called for a structured political shift focused on integrity, welfare, and inclusivity.
“The time has come for the Indian community to seize the opportunity. Under the New National Consensus, we can forge a future based on the 4Es: Education, Employment, Economic growth, and Empowerment,” he said, adding that MIPP is ready to lead with long-term solutions and initiatives like RESET 2027 and strengthened MITRA programmes.
Concluding with a rallying cry, the MIPP President declared, “A better Malaysia is not a dream—it is a commitment. Perikatan Nasional has made that commitment. Now, the Indian community must rise and shape its future with unity and purpose.”
